Ryan Tweedie is a co-founder and major shareholder of Sapien (http://www.SapienSoftware.com) and is responsible for the overall vision and strategy of the company, overseeing sales, marketing and business development efforts globally as well as delivery operations and finance. Ryan has more than fifteen years of technology, operations, sales, and Human Resources experience in the HRMS and HCM industries. Ryan has worked with over 200 organizations globally, most well-known, to implement HRMS and HCM software tools. Ryan’s predecessor company in partnership with Sapien’s European partner, Cezanne Software, pioneered the revolutionary Sapien SaaS platform in 2002 which is in its fifth major release today.


Prior to founding Sapien, Ryan spent ten years with HRSoft, a world-leader in HCM solutions specializing in Succession and Performance Planning software and solutions for Global 1,000 organizations with over 100 major customers including DuPont, Chase, Novartis, Johnson & Johnson, Pepsi, and EDS. HRSoft was sold to a public company in 2004. During his tenure, Ryan occupied a succession of roles: IT Manager, Implementation Specialist, Regional Sales Manager, VP Sales, Co-CEO, and ultimately CEO for the final three years. Ryan has deep consulting experience with executive level HR and IT personnel architecting ERP/HR technology and integration strategies. Prior to HRSoft, Ryan managed Corporate Education Resources which was sold to Best/Sage Software in 2000. Additionally, Ryan worked in technology positions with Thomson Financial and Simmons Company.

During his career, Ryan has formed key relationships with major industry vendors including PeopleSoft, ExeQuity, Hay Group, PDI, Ceridian, Hewitt, and Microsoft. Ryan has presented at major HR/IT conferences with customers such as Johnson & Johnson and Pepsi, presented at PeopleSoft User Conferences, and has been interviewed for major publications such as Global CEO magazine, NJBiz Magazine, the Economic Report (FOX News and CNN), and the International Stevie Awards as a recipient, “Best New Company” 2008.

Ryan lives in Mendham Township, New Jersey and works out of Sapien’s Morristown headquarters.
